What and Who is Sparkling Blue?

What:
Sparkling Blue is a blog for women who aren't quite on life's regular path. We are off beat yet still continue to balance work, family and life.

We sport tattoos under uniforms. We remove piercings for parent teacher conferences. We have two sets of clothes in our closet. Ones for the "normal" days and others for the "me" days. Our kids may sport dyed hair of purple, green or blue just because they wanted it.

We have confidence, intelligence, wisdom, discretion and compassion all stemming from our life experience and our lifestyle. We're easy going, fairly light hearted and we always find a way to shine and stand out.

Who:
Sparkling Blue is a 30 year old Step-Mother of two who talks for a living. Her lifestyle heavily identifies with the gothic/industrial subculture. However, she will tell you she's a "grown up goth". She loves to wear black because it goes with everything, but she wears combat boots because she likes them. She has piercings, red hair and dark eye liner is still quite "in" for her. She's a belly dancer and a video game lover who proudly flies her geek flag.

Here's the other side of the coin. She's involved in her church and has been known to teach Sunday school. She loves to cook, bake and try new recipes her Step-children will enjoy. She loves to listen to music and sing all the time. Knitting, crocheting and hanging out with her dog are pass times she enjoys.

She's also praying to have a child of her own. That's right. This blog is not only about the "two sides" of life, but also about the journey to have a child. With much prayer, she hopes this blog turns into the journey of being a Mother herself. This blog will discuss marriage, relationships and the relationship a husband and a wife share. If these types of things offend you, we suggest you leave the page now.

Yes, Sparkling Blue's real name is not hard to find on the internet. She's not trying to hide it. She just doesn't use it here.
